Araadhya while heading towards CSIA (ChatrapatiShivaji International Airport) in Mumbaiafter meeting the most renowned and revered industrial figure who assured her of support in her mission to empower handicaps, physically challenged, PRMS aka “Viklaang”. She reflected her life as one lived on her own terms. She continued her struggle and being the pride of her family even after the occurrence of unfortunate incident which relegated her to a category where she was addressed as physically challenged, a handicap, an amputee, PRM and worst “Viklaang” a term she abhors still. While there were dejections and disappointments sometimes there were many incidents and people around her which made her positive that it is not impossible for her and many others like her to achieve their dreams.
Lost in her thoughts she realised she had reached her destination. As the taxi came to a halt at the Mumbai Airport first she waited for a wheel chair sitting in taxi. Then she waited at the kerb for the wheel chair again planning her next step. Clock clicked but to no avail. Since she was earlyit further made the wait exasperating.Realising her anguish the staff apologetically toldher that there has been unaccounted rush and they were running short of assistance but the assistance was on its way. She started wondering as to how difficult the world still is for PRMs, Viklaangs even after laws. Is there any ray of hope amidst the callousness, irritations and visible cosmetic sympathy? And then suddenly out of the blue somebody dressed in Airport Kruz attire approached and offered their services as a gesture of salute to her indomitable spirit to conquer heights.
She agreed to avail the service and from the moment AIRPORT KRUZ took over, her travel through the airport passed like a dream, help at every possible step, smiling faces, courteous service and above all pride in serving everyone with equal respect and dignity. As she sat on her aircraft seat with the help of the Airport Kruz staff her belief became more powerful that differently abled in India have a brighter future and better life. During her entire flight she was filled with thoughts of AIRPORT KRUZ and felt proud to have a world class PRM service in India too.
And on her next destination, while Araadhya was again subjected to the Airline’s process of handling PRMS, she felt that she would cite AIRPORT KRUZ noble PRMservice that makes a person feel special and not unequal as an example worth emulation. And Wheelchair at airport: It’s not as difficult as you think.
